now everyone get a moment for those crewmembers that died there without a pod pilot to help them...make a monument for them.
QFT brother Niraco.
Little did we (folks like Niraco, myself, and other ex-ASCN people that I won't identify here) know that our hard work (running complexes for our corps, mining and selling ore at a discount, etc.) for months on end was being used for constructing a titan. We did our job and worked hard for the betterment of our alliance. I left ASCN before the war for several reasons û some game play and some from leadership. When I heard that the titan had been constructed (just after I had left), I was angry. Angry because I knew from where the money came to buy the bpos and equipment. I just couldn't believe that tens if not close to 100 hours of my own game play spent in the 10/10 plex in D-F - along with 1000s of hours of other players mining and plexing and ratting - were used to construct that monstrosity! Adding a long insult to injury, this pilot's failure to use it to defend his own space as demonstrated by BoB's aggressive use of their titan slapped those that unwittingly "donated" to this effort. Every player, whether you knew or not, should have felt robbed by the way the titan was "used".
Is my opinion of this event selfish? Arrogant? Oh, yes, it is. I freely admit it. I certainly didn't have the right to know about such projects let alone object to them, but even at the time û before the war when it was more rumor than anything and capital ship shops were covertly set up in quiet systems with low mining and ratting value û I recognized it for what it was: a waste. 200-350 bs-s worth of material û poof! What a waste of ability to defend your home and fight a good û no, a great û fight. What a strategic blunder.
Am I sad to see the destruction of so much hard work and gameplay? No. My time for passions over the titan project are long gone. I am, however, relieved that it is gone. Links to the past can bind you in the present. This link is definitely snapped. There is one more that remains, but I'll save that for when a new banner flies over the 0-o station in Esoteria . . . .
One thing should be clear: This was not ASCN's membership's fault. To the ones that are there and are still fighting to save their home, their land, themselves - I respect you. Keep fighting û you honor yourselves, your allies, and your enemies in doing so.
I celebrate with my new family, friends, and allies on a glorious accomplishment and decisive victory. Congratulations to the Band of Brothers, to our friends, and to our allies. Well deserved. Well met. And, thank you.
WOW Resipsa that was well said. <S> respect.
